Ellen White Virgins club preaches AIDS message

Effiduase (Ash), April 16, GNA- The Ellen White Virgins Club has organised a three-day HIV/AIDS sensitisation programmes at Effiduase and Asokore in the Sekyere East District of Ashanti with a call to the youth to abstain from sex and married couples to remain faithful to each other.

The programme formed part of the club’s contribution towards the fight against the pandemic.

The club visited the Effiduase Government Hospital and undertook a clean-up exercise.

Pastor Stephen Anokye, president of the club, commended the staff of the hospital for their dedicated services and promised that the club would continue to educate the public about the problems of HIV/AIDS. Dr Samuel Amanama, the Medical Officer in-charge of the Hospital, expressed appreciation to the club for undertaking the cleanup and urged them to continue.

The club crowned the three-day programme with a march through the principal streets of Effiduase and Asokore on Tuesday and ended at the Effiduase lorry park.
