Ellembelle Assembly remembers Dr. Kwame Nkrumah

Nkroful (W/R), March 07, GNA – The District Chief Executive for Ellembelle, Daniel K. Eshun has emphasized the need for society to ensure discipline, as a major pre-requisite for personal and national development. According to him, indiscipline had crept into the moral fiber of the society, which poses a serious threat to development. Mr Eshun said this, when the Ellembelle District Assembly laid three wreaths at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, as part of the 54th Independence da= y celebrations, at Nkroful, in the Western Region.

The first wreath was laid by the Family of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the secon= d by the District Education Director and the last by the MP for Ellembelle. This was shortly after the march past, which saw 22 schools made up Primary, Junior High, Senior High as well as four Cadets corps. Addressing the 54th Independence celebration, on the theme, “Disciplin= e and Hard work- Essential Prerequisite for a Better Ghana,” Mr Eshun called on students to resort to peaceful means in seeking redress to their problems. He said they should not resort to demonstrations and the destruction o= f school properties, adding that, the law would deal with those who would be found culpable of such misconducts. He also expressed wary about the spate of road accidents, which had claimed lives of resourceful people of the country and attributed it to indiscipline among road users. Mr Eshun appealed to the public to assist the security agencies to control the indiscipline on the roads to prevent accidents. The Member of Parliament for Ellembelle and Deputy Energy Minister, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, congratulated the school children and students fo= r taking part in the march- past and called on them to learn hard to assume leadership positions in the future. He said government would work hard to create an enabling environment for all Ghanaians and improve education in fulfillment of the better Ghana agenda.
