Elizabeth Amoah-Tetteh re-elected to contest Atti-Morkwa seat

Twifo Praso, May 8, GNA – The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Atti-Morkwa, Mrs Elizabeth Amoah-Tetteh, has been re-elected to contest for the seat in the December election.

Mrs Amoah-Tetteh was the only one candidate who filed at the close of nominations.

Mrs Amoah-Tetteh commended the delegates and party executive for the confidence reposed in her and promised to work with them to ensure that the party retained the seat.

Mrs Amoah-Tetteh, an educationist, said she believed in “quality education that leads to quality life” and that her priority had been to support the rehabilitation of schools in her constituency and also to raise the standard of education so that brilliant children might have access to higher education.

She said she had used her MP’s share of the District Assembly Common Fund to support deprived communities to build new classroom blocks and renovate others.

Mrs Amoah-Tetteh called for unity in the party and urged members to ensure that they vote massively for the party.

Mr Peter Koomson, regional secretary of the party, called on those who have turned 18 years to register when the voter’s register is re-opened

and urged those who would be posted to the polling centres to be vigilant

during the voting and counting of the ballots. Mr Koomson said the NDC was committed to free and fair election and called on the EC to ensure that the election was conducted in a peaceful atmosphere and appealed to party supporters not to engage in violent

campaigns.
