Electrification Project On Etsii Sonkwaa To Be Completed Next Year

Etsii Sonkwaa a town in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam and its surrounding villages are to be connected to the national grid by May next year in line with the government’s rural electrification project. The Chief Executive Mr.. Kobina Musa-Biney, announced this at a durbar of chiefs and people of the town to round off their annual Akwambo festival. He said the 11 kilometre road from Badukrom to Dominase has been awarded on contract and is expected to start soon. In addition, the District Assembly has chosen the school at Etsii Sonkwaa among those to be rehabilitated early next year. The Obaatan of the town, Nana Appiakorang, asked all the citizens to join hands in self-help projects. He commended the citizens abroad for assisting in the construction of a 13 seater public place of convenience. The Odikro of the town, Nana Yeboah Krampong, expressed concern about the lack of teachers in the town and appealed to the Ghana Education Service to post more teachers to the area.
