Electricity vending machine in Ho now active

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in Ho has fixed the software problem that made it impossible for power vending machines to operate.

The problem started on Wednesday, resulting in a build-up of a number of clients at vending points, including ECG offices in Ho, seeking to recharge prepaid meter cards.

Mr. Robert Amewudah, Ho District ECG Manager, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that a team of experts arrived in Ho at dawn on Friday, to support ECG technical staff to restore the system.

He was grateful to clients for their forbearance during the three-day period of shutdown.

Mr. Amewudah said the ECG avoided announcements either through the media or by public address systems so as not to create panic among the public.
