Electricity Challenges, Poor road network and lack of social amenities affecting us – Assembly member decries

The Assembly Member for the Koraso Electoral Area in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono Region, who also serves as the Dormaa Central Municipal DRIP Coordinator, Honorable Dickson Oppong, has expressed significant concern regarding a range of pressing issues adversely affecting the quality of life in the community. Among the critical challenges identified are the ongoing electricity problems, which stem from the expansion of the communities.

This situation necessitates the extension of electricity and the installation of an additional transformer to address the electricity issues in the area, as low voltage and other electricity-related concerns raise security issues, particularly at night, and disrupt daily activities.

Furthermore, he noted that inadequate road infrastructure and the noticeable lack of essential social amenities continue to exacerbate hardships. Residents face difficulties due to limited access to vital services and facilities, such as water and waste disposal sites, which are crucial for well-being and development.

He emphasized that these factors are creating a challenging environment that requires immediate attention and action from the relevant authorities.

As the Municipal DRIP Coordinator, Hon. Dickson Oppong remarked that, in collaboration with the Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive, he has initiated road maintenance projects utilizing the DRIP Machines since assuming office. This initiative aims to render certain deteriorated roads within the Municipality motorable.

He indicated that areas currently receiving attention include the Koraso to Gonokrom road, as well as the Ahentrase and Kosane roads. He further mentioned that additional areas will be addressed following the completion of the ongoing work on the Kosane road.
