Electrical engineers, contractors and consultants upgrade skills

Tema, Oct. 6, GNA – Eighty-six electrical engineers, contractors and consultants, including one female, had undergone a three-day workshop to upgrade themselves on the latest innovations and developments in the building and construction industry. It was organised by Nexans Kablemetal (Ghana), a leading cable manufacturing company in Ghana and across the West Africa. The resource persons, from France, Germany, Morocco and the Netherlands, took the workshop participants through selection of a cable; useful electrical formulae; transporting, handling and installation of electric cables; overhead aluminium conductors; and innovative products, among other topics.

Closing the workshop, Dr. E.K. Annan, Managing Director of the Company, urged the participants to ensure that the acquired knowledge enabled them to deliver high, quality, safe and guaranteed service to their clients, adding, “the ultimate person who pays for …. Should get the best job done.”

Dr Annan advised them to use quality cables and guard against the use and patronage of inferior, shoddy products, which only constituted potential fire hazards to expensive property and investments. Mr Samuel Quansah, President of the Ghana Electrical Contractors Association, urged members of the Association to constantly upgrade their knowledge and skills, in order to render selfless services towards the development of the country.

Mr Henry Aboagye, Commercial Manager of Nexans Kablemetal Company, hoped Ghanaians would always select quality cables to make their installations easy. The participants were later presented with certificates of participation.
