Electorates asked not sell their voting power

Ahabaso (E/R), Aug.8, GNA – The Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Gustav Narh-Dormetey, has advised the electorate against any influence to sell their votes in exchange for any offers. He reminded them that: “The vote of every Ghanaian is his power and a singular privilege to choose any person you think is fit for the post of President or Member of Parliament.”

Mr Narh-Dormetey who was addressing a durbar of chiefs at Ahabaso in the Upper Manya Sub-district on Friday, told them that the provision of social services such schools, potable water, roads were the civic right of the people.

Mr Narh-Dormetey, who is also the aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for the Upper Manya Constituency, urged them to rally behind the NPP government, which he noted had already initiated projects to promote the well being of the people.

Answering a question on the HIPC benefits, he said the Kufuor administration believed in equal sharing of the national cake hence the distribution of the HIPC projects in all the districts across the country, adding that, “If any community has not yet received any of the projects, it should be patient for its turn to come.”

He assured them that now that the HIPC initiative had reached it’s completion point, many communities were going to benefit from its projects and asked the people to vote him into Parliament to enable him to represent their interest for more development of their community. Mr Narh-Domertey later presented fifty bags of cement to the community for the rehabilitation of a classroom-block and two footballs for the school.
