Electorate urged to study manifestoes of political parties

Sunyani (B/A), Nov. 11, GNA – Mr Akwasi Ameyaw Cheremeh, the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate for Sunyani East has urged the electorate to study the manifestoes of the various political parties before casting their votes on December 7. He said all the political parties had their own visions and it was up to Ghanaians to decide which party they wanted to rule the country. The candidate was speaking at the inauguration of the Nkwabeng South Association (NSA) at Nkwabeng in Sunyani at the weekend. Mr Cheremeh said it was the responsibility of every Ghanaian to exercise his or her franchise as a right. “We all need to cast our votes on the elections day and in a peaceful manner to help sustain the peace in the country”, he said. Mrs Georgina Aba Sam, Chairperson of the association, said sanitation was a major priority of the association and had within its one year of existence, organized several clean-up exercises in many institutions in the Sunyani Municipality. The institution includes the Sunyani municipal hospital, the police station, Sunyani prisons yard and the offices of Ghana Commercial Bank. Mrs Aba Sam said a special council had been formed within the association to address issues among members and called on residents in the area aged 18 and above to join the association. She appealed to the Government, Churches, Non-Governmental Organizations, philanthropists and other corporate organizations to assist the association to embark on a farming project. As part of the celebrations, members of the association performed a drama on the need for peace in the forth-coming general election. 11 Nov. 08
