Elections Complaints Committee formed in UWR

Wa, March 17, GNA – The Upper West Regional Police Command has formed a 12-member elections complaints and monitoring committee, under the chairmanship of Mr. George Ankobil, the deputy Regional Police Commander.

It has the Regional Police Crime Officer as secretary, with Mr. Paul Boateng, the Regional Electoral Officer as member.

A press release issued by the public relations unit of the Ghana police at Wa said all the political parties in the region are to choose a representative each to serve on the committee.

Organisations and institutions represented on the committee are the media houses including the two local FM stations in Wa and the National Commission for Civic Education.

The committee would be inaugurated on March 23 2004.
