Election2000: Mills challenges opposition to show record of achievement

The NDC presidential candidate Professor John Evans Atta Mills has asked all political parties to pledge their commitment at working within the democratic course which the country has embarked upon since 1992 to avoid any undemocratic acts after the December Elections.

Addressing an NDC rally at Nima in the Ayawaso East constituency of Accra, Prof. Mills said he was certain that the NDC will win massively in both the presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7, and advised the opposition parties to respect the principles of democracy and accept the results in good faith.

In the view of the Vice-President, the high office of president of the republic must be occupied by an accomplished personality with a track record of achievement to show. He added that it is only the NDC that has a candidate who has undergone training as a vice president for the past four years and is adequately equipped to assume the mandate of leadership. He challenged the opposition political parties to show their record of achievement to the electorate.
