Election closes, counting underway in the Tamale Metropolis

Tamale, Dec. 7, GNA – Voting in the Tamale Metropolis has officially ended at all the polling stations and counting of ballot is under way. While some polling stations started counting soon after 1700 hours, others started late because some voters were still in the queue to cast their vote.

At the various polling stations, supporters of the contesting parties had massed up waiting anxiously to hear the results of the elections.

Election officials at a number of the polling stations were using rechargeable lamps to aid the counting of the ballot. At the time of filing this report, some polling stations that the Ghana News Agency visited had come out with provisional results. The electorate in the Tamale Metropolis had so far comported themselves. The usual motorcycle display by supporters of the NDC and the NPP during any political activity was conspicuously absent.
