Election 2016 not war – Amissah-Arthur

Vice president Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has been appealing to political parties and their supporters to embark on a campaign of issues and peace ahead of the 2016 elections.

Mr. Amissah-Arthur has also called on the youth not to be used by any political leader or party to foment trouble before, during and after the polls.

He said the election was not about war, but an opportunity for political parties to sell their messages to the electorate.

According to him, “nobody must capitalise on the election to cause mayhem.”

Speaking to a gathering of Muslims to mark the Eid in the Central region, Mr. Amissah-Arthur emphasised the need for education while reminding the people of their request for a school and assured them that the president is eagerly awaiting for the land they promised to provide for the construction of the school.

The vice president assured the gathering that the government was putting in place several measures to ensure that this year’s Hajj is hitch-free unlike previous ones.
