Election 2016 is not a do or die affair – Chief of Staff

The Chief of Staff Mr. Julius Debrah has cautioned the youth of Wa in the Upper west region and by extension Ghanaians to desist from acts that has the potential of compromising the country’s peace and security before, during and after the next Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

The Chief of Staff took his time off his six day campaign tour of the Upper West region to join a “Peace Walk” organised by NASSOBA, with support from National Road Commission and the National Youth Authority aimed at educating the youth to stay out of political squabbles ahead of the next elections.

“President John Dramani Mahama has stated on countless occasions his commitment towards protecting the peace and unity of Ghana intact, I am here to also amply that government is desirous of safeguarding the country’s peace intact beyond the 2016 elections,” Julius Debrah said.

He urged the youth to be vigilant and engage in acts that would enhance and promote productivity in their various communities.

Addressing the enthusiastic crowd in a peace walk which was participated by some political parties including the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the People’s National Convention (PNC) amongst others, the Chief of Staff said Ghana needs Peace to accelerate her development.

He stressed that Ghana would not burn under President Mahama because he is commitment towards seeing the masses go about their normal duties without fear or favor even before and after the elections.

All representatives of the political parties, RSC, NASSOBA and the National Youth Authority urged the People to allow what unites us as a people be more than those the seek to divide us as a people.

The regional minister Hon. Aminu Sullemana who took part of the walk also urged the youth to shun from being agents of violence in the December elections.
