Election 2016: BA chief bans politicians

The Adrobaahene in the Tano North District of the Brong Ahafo region, Nana Odiasempa Kwaku Boadu, has banned politicians, especially the ruling government from his jurisdiction if the road from Terchire to the community is not tarred.

According to Nana Boadu, many promises concerning the construction of the road from Terchire to the community have not been honoured.

“When you take Tano North and South Districts, Adrobaa is the community where most of the vegetables are cultivated, maize as well but our roads are in a deplorable state. Once a while they would come and gravel it, but within a short time it gets to its bad state again because they do not tar. The road from Adrobaa to Terchire is only three miles but since creation the road has never been tarred,” Nana Boadu said.

Nana Boadu noted that he has taken a decision with his community not to allow any politician to come to the community to campaign ahead of the 2016 elections on November 7.

“We know the DCE is NDC while the MP is NPP. We have resolve that this year we are not going to allow any politician in this community, especially NDC because they are in power. What the people of Nkoransa did by preventing the District Level Elections was a tip of the iceberg; we would not allow the Presidential and Parliamentary elections in this community unless we see that our roads are tarred. We have been deceived for a long time,” Odiasempa stated at a public gathering.

He also complained bitterly about poor telecommunication network in the community.

“None of the telecommunication networks is working here, so it is making life very stressful for us. You have to move and get a vantage location before you can make a call,” he stated.
