Ejisumanhene is dead

Accra, June 25, GNA- President John Agyekum Kufour was on Wednesday informed of the death and funeral rites of Ejisumanhene, Oguakro Aboagye

Agyei II by a delegation of Chiefs and Elders from the Ejisu Traditional Area. The late Ejisumanhene would be laid in state on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 and buried on Thursday July 17, 2008 at the Besease Royal Mausoleum.

A press release from the Office of the President, in Accra, signed by Mr Andrew Awuni, said President Kufuor in a tribute recalled the dignified manner in which the late chief carried out his role as a traditional ruler.

The President said the dignified manner in which the late Oguakro Agyei II who was also a lawyer conducted his role created the enabling environment for the development of the traditional area. The delegation of the Chiefs and Elders was led by Nana Yaa Asantewaa II, Ejisuhemaa, and included Nana Bobie Ansah, Bonwirehene and Acting President of the Ejisu Traditional Council, the release said. 25 June 08
