Ejisuman cultural association donates medical equipment to MOH

Ejisu (Ash), Feb 26, GNA- The Ejisuman Cultural Association in Toronto, Canada, has presented medical equipment worth millions of cedis to the Ejisu-Juaben District Health Service for distribution to the various health facilities in the district.

The association comprises of citizens of Ejisu and its surrounding communities resident in Toronto, Canada.

The equipment include a large number of wheel chairs, walkers, clutches, bath chairs, walker sticks, wheel chair chamber pots as well as spare parts for the equipment.

Making the presentation at Ejisu on Tuesday, Mr Nicholas Owusu Prempeh, vice-chairman of the association said the items were procured from donations following a request the association made to the Red Cross Society of Toronto for health facilities back home.

Mr Prempeh said the gesture was their contribution towards making quality health care more accessible to all in the district especially the aged.

Nana Aboagye Agyei II, Paramount Chief of Ejisu Traditional area, Nana Yaa Asantewaah II, Queen mother of Ejisu and Mr Yaw Ahenkora Afrifa, the District Chief Executive, jointly received the items. They thanked the donors for their concern for good health in the area and assured them that the items would be judiciously used for the purpose for which they were donated.

The items were later formally handed over to the acting District Director of Health Services, Madam Ellen Ofosu for distribution to all the hospitals, health centres and clinics in the district.
