Ejisuhene passes away

THE DEATH is reported of the Ejisuhene, Nana Aboagye Agyei II known in private life as Bob Anane alias Kwadwo Afrifa in the early hours of Monday April 14, 2008 after a protracted illness.

He was enstooled chief of Ejisu after chieftaincy litigation which last over nine years.

He was a lawyer by profession and a Member of the Council of State under the NDC regime.

The father of Mike Anane, formerly of the African Observer magazine, Nana Aboagye Agyei sees all journalists, including his son, as not trustworthy, inquisitive, wicked and blackmailers.

His position is premised on the fact that no matter the cordiality one enjoys from a journalist he would always remain a “dangerous species to society.”

With his demise, a whole range of issues bordering on allegations of non-maintenance of a 15-year-old girl against him at the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (formerly WAJU) since March 2005, indecent assault, disputes before the Kumasi Traditional Council, double sale of lands and compensation for land owners at Boankra Inland Port project remain unresolved.

Family sources indicate that funeral rites and arrangements would be announced later.
