Ejisu police hunts for murder suspect

The Ejisu Police have launched a manhunt for a female drinking bar operator, who is alleged to have beaten a 43-year old farmer to death at Kwamo in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality.

The suspect, named only as Maggie, is reported to have committed the crime on March 2, and gone into hiding.

The deceased, Osei Yaw, had gone to the drinking spot operated by the suspect with his elder brother, Kofi Adjei, to buy some drinks.

As they enjoyed their drinks, Maggie allegedly accused Osei of stealing a bottle of Fanta, which he profusely denied.

The woman then subjected him to severe beating.

He managed to run to a nearby house but the suspect pursued him and mercilessly thrashed him until he blacked out.

Osei was rushed to the Emena hospital in Kumasi where he died two days later.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Baffour Awuah, the Ejisu Police Commander, confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) and appealed to the public to volunteer information to help track down the suspect.
