Ejisu-Juaben District to collect 1.144bn cedis as revenue

Ejisu (Ash), Feb 9, GNA- The Ejisu-Juaben District Assembly is to collect 1.144 billion cedis as revenue for 2004, Mr Yaw Ahenkora Afrifa, the District Chief Executive said on Friday.

The amount, he said, indicated 52.85 percent increase over last year’s figure of 748.4 million cedis.

Addressing the Assembly at Ejisu, Mr Afrifa said last year the assembly mobilised 652.4 million cedis out of the projected target representing 87.18 percent.

He said the assembly could have achieved a 100 percent revenue generation if the valuation report had been released earlier. Mr Afrifa said the assembly’s revenue rose from 227 million ceids in 2001 and then to 319 million cedis in 2002 and shot up to 652.4 million cedis in 2003.

He called for support from all assembly members to mobilise enough resources for the development of the district.

Mr Dwomoh Sarpong, the presiding member, said to be able to achieve the set target in the assembly’s estimates, the assembly’s revenue task force would be re-organised and motivated to perform creditably.
