Ejisu-Juaben District records 101 HIV/AIDS cases

Ejisu (Ash), Aug 18, GNA- The Ejisu-Juaben district recorded 101 HIV/AIDS cases between January and August this year, Mr Padmore Mensah, the deputy District Co-ordinating Director, announced on Monday. He said the figure showed that the message on the disease had not gone down well with the people.

He therefore called for the campaign to be intensified and warned that if this was not done, more people would be affected. Mr Mensah was inaugurating the 60-member Zongo Community-Based Organisation (CBO) at Ejisu.

He asked married couples to be faithful to each other as a way of curtailing the spread of the pandemic.

Mr Ahmed Yahaya, assemblyman for Zongo, advised hairdressers and barbers to sterilise their tools regularly in order to avoid the disease.

He asked the youth to abstain from pre-marital sex.
