Eighteen year old suspected cocaine dealer arrested.

Koforidua, Aug. 22, GNA – The police in Akwatia have arrested an 18-year old unemployed man, Kasim Osman, for possessing a quantity of a whitish substance suspected to be cocaine.

The Eastern Regional Police Public Affairs Officer, Chief Inspector Kwabena Nketiah-Yeboah, said the police had information that the suspect was retailing the whitish substance at Boadua Frafraline, a suburb in Akwatia.

He said Police personnel were subsequently dispatched to the house where they met the suspect with the substance and arrested him.

Later on the same day, the police mounted another swoop in the same area and arrested four persons who were peddling in substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

The four suspects, William Necku 30, Philip Agyiri 30, Anu Junior 53 and Aziz Isaka 17 were arrested with parcels of the dried leaves and a knife believed to have been used in cutting the leaves.

He said the police was conducting further investigations and all five suspects would be arraigned before court soon.
