Eight queried fufu pounding teachers show remorse – GES

Teachers of the Amanhia M/A Basic School in the Akuapim North Municipality of the Eastern region who incurred the wrath of the Municipal Director of Education Grace Owusua Addo after abandoning their post to pound fufu have since shown remorse.

The teachers numbering 8 were served queries to explain why they conducted themselves in that manner after someone tipped the director of happenings in the school.

The Eastern Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Asiedu Acheampong, said the teachers have officially responded to the queries and apologized.

“It is indeed true the said teachers were queried, they are 8 in number and they have written officially to apologize for pounding fufu during school hours, they have also written an undertaking to that effect not repeat what happened.”

“I believe going forward we will all know that we are guided by rules; so this act will serve as a deterrent to other teachers who in future will want to also pound fufu in school.”

The query of one of them was leaked on social media generating a sarcastic comments as to why such a query must be issued by the GES boss at the municipality when the school has a head who has oversight responsibility over teachers.
