Eight Mourners Perish In Accident In Ghana

ACCRA, Ghana (PANA) – Eight mourners died on the spot on Friday on Ghana’s high-speed motorway just outside Accra.

Police chief inspector Sam Ening said the accident involving three vehicles – a bus, an articulated truck and a Range Rover – occurred during heavy rains.

He said the bus was conveying the mourners and was ahead of a hearse conveying their dead relative for burial at Tema, some 25 km east of Accra.

The dead were not immediately identified.

Police said the accident occurred when the articulated, carrying a 20-foot container from Tema to Accra, hit the Range Rover from behind and veered off its lane into the opposite lane and collided with the bus which was coming from Accra.
