Accra, Jan. 29, GNA- The authorities of the University of Ghana, Legon, on Thursday announced that eight students have been barred from from taking any university examinations for a period ranging from two to four semesters.
A statement issued in Accra by the Public Affairs Directorate of the University, said the action had become necessary because the affected students were involved in examination malpractices during the first semester of 2002-03 academic year.
Four of the students, including a lady, were barred for four semesters, while the rest were barred from taking examinations for two semesters.
The names of those barred for four semesters were given as Mr Maxwell Kweku Hotor, Mr Marque Justice Akita, Mr Alexander Kwame Dante and Ms Delphine Mankatah Dede-Wusu.
The statement directed that they should hand over all university property in their possession, including their identity cards, to the Senior Tutor of their respective Halls of residence or attachment, before leaving campus.
Mr Anthony Gagblah, Mr Emmanuel Ahuhu, Mr Daniel Owusu-Achaw and Mr Ernest Ocloo were barred for two semesters.
