Eight government appointees sworn into office

Winneba (C/R), Feb.21 GNA-Eight new government appointees were on Friday sworn in as members of the Effutu Municipal Assembly at its special meeting held in Winneba to replace those that were appointed by the previous government in line with the law establishing the District Assemblies. Mr Ben B. Attabra, Winneba Court Magistrate sworn the appointees into office.

Mr Alexander Afenyo Markin, Presiding member of the assembly urged the new member to cooperate with their colleagues to work hard to improve the living standard of the people.

He reminded the Assembly Members of the non-partisan nature of the Assembly and urged them to always have the development of the electoral area at heart. The Assembly later nominated Mr Markin and Mr. Kojo Asmah Bondzie to represent the district at the Central Regional Electoral College to elect the Council of State Member for the Region. 21 Feb. 09
