Chief Inspector Jonas Lawer, presenting the facts, explained that on June 11, 2025, the complainants— all members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)—visited various polling centres during the Ablekuma North election re-run.

When they arrived at the Methodist Church Polling Station, the accused persons allegedly launched an unprovoked attack on Madam Koomson and a trader, Majeed Mohammed Saana. Security officers intervened to rescue them, but the accused later turned their aggression on Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei, the NPP’s Deputy Organiser, assaulting him as well.

All three victims lodged official complaints at the Odorkor Police Station and the Regional CID. They were issued medical forms and received treatment.

The accused, when arrested, denied wrongdoing in their caution statements. However, after investigations, they were formally charged and brought before the court, where they eventually pleaded guilty.
