Eight area councils inaugurated at Twifo Praso

Twifo Praso (C/R), May 25, GNA- The District Chief Executive of Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira, Mr Samuel Agyeibie-Kessie, on Wednesday announced that Area Councils, which excel in revenue generation, would be honoured. He said the awards were to enhance competition among the councils to enable them give off their best. Mr Agyeibie-Kessie made the announcement when he inaugurated eight reconstituted area councils in the district. They are Twifo-Agona, Wamaso, Nyinase, Mampong, Wawase, Twifo Praso, Jukwa and Twifo-Hemang.

Mr Agyeibie-Kessie also announced that the Community Based Rural Development Project (CBRP) has voted a total of 750 million cedis to five communities to undertake micro projects in their areas. He mentioned Agona, Wamaso, Nyinase, Mampong and Wawase as the beneficiary communities, which have their areas plans ready and that each council would receive 150 million cedis.

Mr Agyeibie-Kessie appealed to the council members to be transparent in their activities and consult the district assembly whenever they had problems in the performance of their duties. He also advised them to assist the district assembly to generate more revenue locally to meet its target.
