Ehoma To Contest Jomoro Parliamentary Seat

Takoradi, Sept. 18, GNA – Mr Patrick Somiah Ehoma, self-employed, has declared his intention to contest the Jomoro constituency parliamentary seat as an independent candidate in the 2004 general election.

Mr Ehoma, who is well known by his admirers as “Life”, contested the parliamentary seat in the 2000 election as an independent candidate and came second in the race.

He told the Ghana News Agency in Takoradi on Thursday that he took the decision, following persistent demands from well-wishers, including chiefs and the youth, who have promised to rally behind him to win. He said his admirers believed he has the leadership qualities that could be harnessed to bring unity and initiative to sustain the area’s development.

Mr Ehoma said he was capable of bringing development that had eluded the area for a long time and advised other politicians, especially those, who intend to contest the Jomoro parliamentary seat, to conduct a campaign that would not divide the people.

He also urged the chiefs to respect the constitutional provision that enjoins them to stay clear of partisan politics.
