Effutu Municipal Assembly to implement three-year development plan

Winneba,(C/R) May 31, GNA – Participants at a Consultative Workshop o n the Effutu Municipal Medium Term Development Plan for 2010-2013 have recommended the effective implementation of the plan to improve the livin g conditions of the people.

Among the participants were chiefs, assembly members, representatives of the private Sector, technocrats, engineers, planners, the clergy, and educationists.

The development plan covers expanded development of infrastructure, accelerated agriculture modernization and agro based industrial developme nt, sustainable partnership between government and private sector, developing

the human resource for national development and reducing poverty and inco me inequalities.

The workshop, which was organised by the Effutu Municipal Assembly an d the National Development Planning Commission, (NDPC) followed the expirat ion of the four Year Medium Term Development Plan under the Growth and Povert y Reduction strategy for 2006-2009.

The Effutu Municipal Co-coordinating Director, Mr John K. Kussachin, said the Municipality abounded in potentials and opportunities but there were challenges that needed to be overcome to the ensure peace and accelerate development.

The coordinator said the focus of the municipality for the medium-ter m framework was to improve security, access to quality education, quality health care delivery and economic infrastructure for expanding productivi ty, in partnership with the private sector. Mr Kussachin said to achieve these there was the need for all and sun dry to contribute their quota in terms of finance, labour and suggestions. 31 May 10
