Effutu MP opens office at Effutu Rural

Effutu Gyahadze, (C/R) June 2, GNA – The Minister of Transport and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Mr Mike Hammah, has opened an office at Effutu Gyahadze to serve seven surrounding communities in his constituency. Speaking at the inauguration of the GHC5,000 facility, Mr Hammah said the facility being manned by some staff, would receive suggestions, requests and proposals from the people of Effutu Ateitu, Osubonpanyin, Gyangyanadze, Nsuekyir, Walababa, Atekyedo, Sankro and Gyahadze. Mr Hammah said the office would eliminate the burden of those constituents who used to travel to Winneba to present their requests. The Minister urged parents to invest their resources, no matter how little, in their children’s education rather than spending them on material things.

Nii Ephraim, Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, said the MP’s office is a step towards his campaign promise to collaborate with them to develop the area.

He said the MP had also established a fund to cater for brilliant but needy students in the Municipality and urged parents to encourage their children to learn hard to enable them to benefit from the fund. Osabarima Kojo Heitey, chief of Gyahadze and Gyasehen of Effutu Traditional Area, on behalf of his colleagues, thanked Mr Hammah for opening the office in the area to eliminate their trips to Winneba to see him. Later, Nana Ackon Agyeefi, VII, Chief of Osubonpanyin, and the Reverend Dr Ekow Ghunney, Bishop of Winneba Diocese of the Methodist Church, jointly cut a tape to inaugurate building.
