Winneba, May 6, GNA – The Effutu Municipal Assembly on Tuesday Nii Ephraim as the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive. Twenty-three out of the twenty-four assembly members present voted for him while one voted against the nominee. Nii Ephraim thanked the President for nominating him and reminded the assembly members of the non-partisan nature of the assembly and appealed to them to come together as one body towards the rapid development of the municipality.
The Central Regional Minister, Madam Amah Benyiwa Doe, also thanked the members and appealed to them to support the MCE to improve the living standards of the people in the area.
The Member of Parliament for the constituency and Minister of Transport, Mr. Mike Hammah, said without unity and cooperation the assembly would not be able to function effectively and urged them to forget their political affiliations when it comes to assembly business. 06 May 09
