Efforts to make health facilities in Western Region user friendly

Takoradi, May 21, GNA-Managers and staff of health institutions in the Western Region have resolved to ensure that maternity units become user friendly to improve antenatal care and safe motherhood practices. This was contained in a communiqu=E9 issued at the end of a three-day workshop on antenatal care and safe motherhood practices at Takoradi on Friday.

Sixty participants including district directors of health services, medical superintendents, hospital matrons and maternity ward nurses from the Western region attended the workshop. They resolved to implement the policies and standards of the National Reproductive and Child Health Services and improve the care of neonates to prevent illnesses, disabilities and deaths. The communiqu=E9 said efforts would be made to establish functional blood transfusion centres in all district hospitals.
