Edumadze subjects NPP man to severe beating

The former Central Regional Minister, Isaac Eduosar Edumadze, last Saturday allegedly caused a stir at a funeral in his constituency, Ajumako Enyan Assiam in the Central region.

Hon Edumadze, together with two others, allegedly subjected Prince Ansah, the constituency assistant secretary of the New Patriotic Party to severe beatings, which nearly sent him to his grave.

The two alleged accomplices were Kweku Seidu and Emmanuel Sam. The police are investigating the case.

Meanwhile, attempts to speak to the former minister were unsuccessful, as calls to his phone were not answered.

Speaking to Daily Guide last Sunday, Mr Ansah said he was with the constituency Youth Organizer, Patrick Aggrey, when the wife of Seidu started raining insults on them, calling them names.

However, neither of them uttered a word in response.

He claimed further that immediately they got to the funeral grounds at Akotogua in the Ajumako district with other constituency executives, the former Central Regional Minster, together with Seidu and Sam, attacked him without provocation.

“My constituency chairman, Mr George Mensah, sensing danger to my life, had wanted to come to my aid but he was threatened by the former Minister who happens to be the Member of Parliament for the area,” he said.

The case was reported to the Breman Assiam Police Station where the victim was issued with a police medical form.

Sources at the police station say they have started investigation into the incident.
