Educationist to contest New Juaben North Primary

Koforidua, Sept. 16, GNA – Mr Isaac Livingston Asamoah, an educationist, has picked a nomination form to contest the upcoming Parliamentary Primary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the New Juaben North constituency.

Mr Asamoah, 38, would be contesting against two other candidates, Mr Joshua Atta Mensah, the New Juaben Municipal Coordinator of the National Youth Employment Programme and Dr Kwaku Twum.

Any of them if endorsed by the delegates will face the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Nana Kwasi Adjei Boateng, former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for New Juaben. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Koforidua on Friday, Mr Asamoah said he was hopeful to win the primary and go on to wrest the seat from the NPP.

He said if given the nod by the delegates, he would strengthen the party’s structures in the area and the Better Ghana Agenda of President John Evans Atta Mills.

Mr Asamoah said after visiting all the wards in the constituency, he became confident that he was well-positioned to battle the NPP candidate.

He called on party members to put aside any political differences and work assiduously to enable the NDC to win the seat in 2012.

Mr Asamoah said his intention to contest the primary was as a result of numerous calls from the leadership of the party and community leaders in the constituency.

He pledged to work hard to ensure that the NDC wins the seat for the first time since 1996.

Mr Asamoah holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Mentorship from the University of Education, Winneba, Bachelor of Education from the same University, Teachers Certificate 93A” from the Seventh Day Adventist College of Education, Asokore and Ordinary Level Certificate from the Pope John Senior High school.
