Educationist calls on stakeholders to promote education

Mr. Dan Blinsley Antwi, Kintampo South District Director of Education, has appealed to parents, teachers and other stakeholders to collaborate efforts to promote education in the area.

He stressed that education is the foundation for development and stakeholders should promote teaching and learning.

Mr. Antwi was addressing a three-day management training workshop for more than 60 participants drawn from Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) and School Management Committees (SMCs) and community members, at Suamire in the district.

The event was organised by the District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service in collaboration with World Vision International, a non-governmental organisation, to remind participants of their roles and responsibilities in education.

Mr. Hammond Peter Yeboah, Training Officer of Kintampo South Directorate of Education, who was a resource person, took the participants through effective roles of PTA’s and SMC’s.

He asked the participants to help in the transformation of education, and to disseminate knowledge acquired at the workshop to their other colleagues, who did not get the opportunity to attend the event.

Nana Yaw Adjeri Azamu, chief of Bredi, in the district, called on parents to support teachers to enable them to give their best in the training of children.**
