Educationist advises Service personnel

Nkoranza (B/A), April 18, GNA – Mr. Kwabena Agyemang-Badu, Nkoranza District Director of Education has commended National Service personnel posted to the district for accepting postings to serve in deprived communities to help in the promotion of education.

Mr. Agyemang-Badu was addressing the personnel at a meeting at Nkoranza during which period they shared their experiences and discussed how best they could address the problems facing them.

He said the efforts and services being rendered by National Service personnel could not be over emphasised since they have for the past years contributed immensely towards the manpower development of the state.

He stressed the need for them to respect the views of the people they were serving and live above reproach in order to command respect from them.

Mr. Agyemang-Badu called on assembly members, chiefs and unit committees to treat the personnel serving in their communities as part of their family members and provide them with the necessary support and attention to make them feel happy to stay with them and serve. The District National Service Co-ordinator, Mr. Raphael Alorwu stressed the need for them to be very punctual and regular to work so as to build a cordial working relationship with their head teachers and heads of departments.

Mr. Alorwu said as they were role-models in the communities, they should lead lives worthy of emulation in order that they would build better testimonies for themselves. He advised them to work assiduously in all areas they were serving to enhance the development of the district.

Mr. Adjei Yeboah, Presiding Member of the Nkoranza District Assembly urged the personnel to have a vision and focus at rising higher to an appreciable and enviable levels in education and they would enjoy better lifestyles in future.

Mr. Yeboah also advised them to be very cautious about their sexual behaviours and that they should guard against illicit sexual practices and to free themselves from contracting HIV/AIDS 18 April 05
