Education seminar held for stakeholders

Mankranso (Ash), Sept. 10, GNA- A two-day seminar for stakeholders in education, designed to sensitise communities to realise that schools belong to them and must therefore, protect and maintain them, has been held at Mankranso in Ashanti. It was organised by the district directorate of education and attended by School Management Committees (SMCs), Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs), unit committees, area councillors, assembly members and other stakeholders. The Department for International Development (DFID) of the United Kingdom sponsored the seminar. Communities which attended the seminar included Nyameadom, Wioso, Mpasaso, Amangoase, Kwamekyemkrom, Nsutam, Potrikrom, Kunsu and Dotiem. An official of the District Education Office, Mr D.K. Osei, told the communities that communities play a crucial role in the running of the schools, they should take interest not only in the administration of schools but in all school activities.
