Education Minister visits victims’ families of Jamra KG disaster

Minister of Education Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has paid a visit to families of victims of the kindergarten school building that killed six pupils in Jamra in the Central Region.

He also visited those on admission at the Breman Asikuma Government Hospital.

Dr Prempeh has promise to foot the hospital bills of the injured on admission and help in the funeral arrangements of those who lost their lives.

The disaster which occurred on Tuesday, January 31, where the kindergarten of the Jamra Methodist School collapsed leading to four pupils who died instantly and later two died at the Breman Asikuma Government Hospital.

Six pupils died from the disaster Speaking at the palace of the chief Jamra Breman on Wednesday, Dr Prempeh expressed sadness for having to witness a disaster as his first major assignment since assuming the reigns as minister.

He promised that contractors working on the primary section will be prevailed upon to speed up work and also construct a new one for the kindergarten.
