Education Fund for Muslims in Volta Region

Hohoe, Oct. 15, GNA – A Ghana Muslim Education Fund (GMEF) is to be established in the Volta Region to cater for brilliant but needy Muslim children.

Alhaji Mohammed Tarjudeen, Chief of Zongo Community at Hohoe speaking to the GNA said the fund would address the low standard of education in the community and called for cooperation and support from philanthropists, institutions and organisations. He said improvement in education was necessary in view of technological advancement and globalisation. On politics, Alhaji Tarjudeen urged politicians to desist from vain promises, which sometimes caused conflicts in the communities.
