Education Director Commends Ellembelle MP

The Ellembelle District Director of Education, the Reverend (Mrs) Elizabeth Akuoku has commended Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area for his numerous interventions to improve education in the area.

The MP, she said, since assuming the seat in 2009, had collaborated with the District Assembly and organised mock examinations to adequately prepare the BECE candidates before they wrote their final examinations.

Rev Akuoku, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, at Nkroful, said that this year’s mock questions were standardised and written under the strict supervision, which usually characterised external examinations.

Therefore, she said, she was confident the candidates would put the District on a high pedestal.

Rev. Akuoku noted that Mr Kofi Buah had made many interventions in the pursuit of good quality education delivery in the area of sports, inter-schools quiz competitions, donation of exercise books, ICT education and offered scholarships to needy students.

According to the Director, the District had registered 1,441 candidates made up of 805 males and 636 females to write the impending BECE.

She recalled that the District scored 73.50 per cent in 2013 and that shot up to 74.60 per cent in 2014.

Rev Akuoku, therefore, advised the candidates to study hard and be confident in order to excel in the examinations.
