Education and potable water supply reoccurring needs of Zongo communities – Minister

The Minister for Inner Cities and Zongo Development, Boniface Abubakar Saddique has revealed that education and provision of potable water are the most reoccurring needs of Zongo communities in Ghana.

According to him, out of the six regions visited for stakeholder consultations, education scholarships for Muslim children is a top priority for the Zongo communities in the Southern sector while the provision of potable drinking water is a lead demand in Zongos in the Northern sector.

Hon. Abu Bakar Saddique Boniface said this in an interview with the media in Koforidua Zongo after a consultative meeting with stakeholders in the community.

The nationwide stakeholders’ consultation is to enable the ministry collate inputs of the Zongo communities in drafting a legal framework to back the Zongo Development Fund utilisation.
