Editor Of Gye Nyame Concord Apologises To Mills

Managing Editor of the Gye Nyame Concord, Alfred Ogbamey, this morning apologized unreservedly to NDC Leader and Presidential Candidate, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, for an untrue story that his paper put out today.

Today’s Gye Nyame Concord bannered thus: “NDC FLIES IN GERMAN DOC To Pep Mills Up Till Dec”.

The opening paragraph read thus: “Credible but unconfirmed reports reaching Gye Nyame Concord suggests the National Democratic Congress has flown in a specialist from a reputable German health facility to manage the NDC’s presidential candidate John Evans Atta Mills’ medical headache till the December 7 elections”.

Unable to defend the falsehood peddled, Alfred Ogbamey visited the Kuku Hill office of the NDC Leader and apologized for the unease the story caused.

The Managing Editor pledged to do the honourable thing and retract the story verbally as well as in writing, and promised that his paper will not be used to put out untrue stories about the NDC Leader.

On his part, Professor Mills said his doors are open at any time to Mr. Ogbamey and other media personnel and that at anytime they want some clarification on matters about his health, or any other matter, they are free to contact his office.

Professor Mills wholeheartedly accepted the apology and said he was not going to hold anything against Alfred Ogbamey.
