ECOWAS postpones 40th anniversary event

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on Thursday announced the postponement of the 40th Anniversary event which was scheduled for May 28, 2015 in Abuja, Nigeria.

A statement from the Communication Directorate of ECOWAS copied to the GNA by Mr Mamadou Khoule, Communications Expert at ECOWAS, said a new date will be announced after the 47th Ordinary Session of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government, which will take place on May 19, 2015 in Accra, Ghana.

The ECOWAS was formed in 1975.
