ECOWAS Military Chiefs to meet in Accra

Accra, Sept. 23, GNA – West African Defence and Security Commission, currently under the chairmanship of Lieutenant-General Seth Obeng, Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), is to meet in Accra from September 28-30 to deliberate on sub-regional security.

A statement issued in Accra on Thursday by the Directorate of Public Relations of the GAF said all the Chiefs of Defence Staff of ECOWAS were expected to attend the meeting. It would be under the theme: “Sub-Regional Peace and Security – The Way Forward.”

The statement said the Executive Secretary of ECOWAS, Dr Mohamed Ibn Chambas is expected to address the opening ceremony of the meeting, which is the 10th in the series.
