The Reverend Professor Immanuel A. Agbozo, Leader of the Ghana Evangelical Society, said the country’s economic hardship is the manifestation of spiritual disorder on the part of political and religious leaders.
“There is no direction in the governance of the country’s policy, and the nation rely on international assistance to balance its payment of deficit and these donors in turn dictates to us on what they see as best policies for our development.
“The country lack moral courage to bring change and we need God’s wisdom and direction to lead the country to righteousness,” Prof Agbozo said this at the beginning of a three day festival of celebration of divine love in Accra, under the theme “Behold I Make All Things New”.
Prof. Agbozo said it behooves on the leadership of the country to submit totally to the will of God to open doors of success in all their endeavors because the word of God says “Jesus has come to open doors for us and set captives free”.
He stressed that, in these seemingly difficult times of the country’s economy; “God has assured us of His presence and that all must stand by the truth and embrace God to take control of situations”.
He said the country was in a state of anguish because there is political, social, psychological, and economic crisis; stressing “that no nation can develop without the power of God because God controls the affairs of all”.
Prof Agbozo said “most political and religious leaders acknowledge Jesus Christ as the King of Peace, pretending to be attending churches and mosque and in turn worship other spiritual gods to the detriment of God’s commandments”.
He urged all to continue to thank God for the mercies bestowed on the nation and the gift of life and pray for direction for the country to come out of the economic crisis it is facing.
The festival is devoted to the celebration of God, His love, Mercies and goodness for man and creation, nations and peoples of Ghana.
The festival organized by the Ghana Evangelical Society also serve as a time of national acknowledgement, thanksgiving, honour and glory in worship, praise and prayer unto God for the salvation and redemption of souls in the country.
