ECG to open a new switching station at Ejisu-Beasease

Effiduase-Ashanti, April 16, GNA – The management of Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) would soon install a power station at Besease near Ejisu in the Ejisu-Juaben District of Ashanti Region to supply power to the proposed Inland Port at Boankra. Mr Adu Gyamfi, Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Manager of ECG told Ghana News Agency on Tuesday at Effiduase-Ashanti that the project would end the frequent power outages being experienced in the area. He said the company had already acquired land for the project that would commence soon.

“Equipment and the Japanese contractor to work on the project are in the country,” he added. Mr Adu Gyamfi, did not give the estimated cost of the project but said on completion the people would enjoy a double power phase similar to mining areas. He appealed to the people of Besease to co-operate with the contractor to ensure its early completion.
