The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has accused the Chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr. Kwadwo Afari Gyan of yielding to ruling National Democratic Congress’s manipulation.
According to Mr. Owusu Afriyie, the several decisions by the EC including creation of 45 new constituencies as well as its decision to go ahead with the by-elections in Wulensi and Kwabre West constituencies despite several appeals against them, give backing to the NPP’s claim.
Speaking Wednesday on Bawdwam on Adom TV on MultiTV “Sir John” as he is popularly called, urged Dr. Afari Gyan to resist apparent pressure from the NDC, to put to rest claims that he (Afari Gyan) is not working to be in the good books of the NDC.
In a rebuttal, Managing Editor for Insight newspaper, Kwasi Pratt has cautioned the NPP scribe against making unsubstantiated claims.
Mr. Pratt who was also on the programme, counselled the NPP to back their claims with evidence instead of making baseless claims.
