Mr Johnnie Quarshie-Idun, counsel for the Electoral Commission, in his response to the ruling, congratulated Mrs Dordzie for her “well-researched” ruling.
He noted the fact that a lot of work had gone into the ruling and said it needed to be digested. “We will digest and advise our clients accordingly,” he told the court.
Earlier, Mr Peter Ala Adjetey had described the ruling as well-researched and erudite, exhibiting a high level of intellectual conclusions. He sought the court to grant costs of 10 million cedis against Mrs Adotey.
But Mr Samuel Cudjoe, counsel for Mrs Adotey objected to the request pleading that since the matter was a constitutional issue, all parties were helping to improve the legal system.
His plea seemed to have worked magic because Mrs Dordzie did not award costs, saying “it is no fault of Mrs Adotey that the case was brought before the court”. Ghanaian Chrnicle
