EC to brief Parliament on biometric registration exercise

Mr. Cletus Apul Avoka, Majority Leader, on Thursday said the leadership in Parliament would invite the Electoral Commission (EC) to brief members on the just-ended biometric registration exercise.

He said the EC had met members before at a committee of the whole to brief them on the exercise and it was a fair request by the House to invite them again for briefing on Election 2012.

Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, NPP Member for Manhyia, who raised the issue said it was good members were informed about the problems encountered during the exercise.

He was supported by Mr. Isaac Osei, NPP Member for Subin.

Mr. Avoka said the leadership would inform the EC on the appropriate time to brief the House.

Meanwhile, six Ministers of State are to answer questions for the third week ending June 1.**
